The Montreal-based electronic due are set to release their latest single tomorrow, which will be featured on their upcoming record due this spring.
Producers Philippe Manasseh and Nadim Maghzal are back with their newest track, which fuses influences from French techno and electronic beats from the 80s and 90s. The duo’s work mostly conveys messages of tolerance and their personal experiences related to marginalization.
“Nouvelle Vague,” which translates as new wave is a reflection of change. In terms of the song’s context, they mention, “With the pandemic, our lifestyles have been turned upside down. This change brings multiple possibilities and hope for the future, but it also sows doubt, confusion and great apprehension.” Wake Island is also set to release an English version of “Nouvelle Vague” on March 26th.
