Featuring Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Rochelle Jordan, Tanya Tagaq, and more

The 2026 Polaris Music Prize has revealed the 10 nominated for its album Short List. 

Tanya Tagaq has received yet another nomination after taking home the prestigious music award for her 2014 album, Animism. Singer-songwriter Begonia and Quebec pop acts Bibi Club and Les Lounages have been shortlisted once again.

Meanwhile, anonymous québécois rock duo Angine De Poitrine, Aquakultre, the project of Nova Scotian singer and rapper Lance Sampson, singer-songwriter Charlotte Cornfield, Rochelle Jordan, and previous Polaris Heritage Prize winners Peaches and Beverly Glenn-Copeland, have all earned their first spot on the shortlist.

The Polaris Music Prize awards the Canadian Album of the Year a $30,000 prize courtesy of the Slaight Family Foundation, based solely on artistic merit. The winning record, along with the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize and Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize winners, will be revealed during the award ceremony taking place at Massey Hall in Toronto on September 22nd.
