“Model Village,” is the latest single off of the band’s upcoming record, Ultra Mono.
By Sun Noor
With “Model Village,” the band make a critique of all of the problems of Britain. This punchy, guitar-driven number is paired with lyrics that openly criticize the normalization of issues such as racism, the lack of unity, the country’s obsession with tabloids or unnecessary violence.
The visual accompaniment for the song demonstrates a chaotic village that is definitely fuelled by evil and the lack of free thinkers. The video demonstrates this village to undergo an endless cycle of havoc. Despite the fact that this song is mostly pointed towards Britain, it can definitely be viewed as an analogy for the western world as these same problems also take place in North America but in different forms.
The Video for “Model Village,” was directed by Michel and Olivier Gondry in Collaboration with WeTransfer.
Ultra Mono is out on September 25th via Partisan Records. Click here to preorder the album.
