No Lube, No Limits: Peaches Returns in Full Filthy Glory

No Lube, No Limits: Peaches Returns in Full Filthy Glory

The iconic electro-punk provocateur’s hometown show was a sweaty, glitter-soaked celebration of queer rage, sexual freedom, and electro-punk resilience.

The iconic trailblazer and provocative free spirit is back at it again and hotter than ever. This past February, Toronto/Berlin babe Peaches released her first album in over 10 years, titled No Lube So Rude, via legendary label Kill Rock Stars (as yes she’s selling butt plugs as merch). March 4th we caught her at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall and are happy to report that like her latest record insinuates, this peach has only gotten stronger & sexier with age.

Opening the show with “Hanging Titties” in what can only be described as a penis suit, Peaches came to the stage ready to dick around & soak us in her cunty music. From the penis suit she revealed a hairy look (Sasquatch could never) and many other fun fits as the set continued, including nipple merkins. Together Peaches alongside her dancers (who joined her as she made her way through the crowd later in the show), her lighting and her songs blended into a beautifully rad evening of queer electro-punk, celebrating the power of anti-fascist pussy, reminding us to shake out the tense rage of this modern age with tracks like her latest protest song “Not in Your Mouth None of Your Business.”

While the set focused on newer No Lube So Rude cuts, we also got to hear many other fav tracks from her decades spanning career including “Vaginoplasty,” “Boys Wanna Be Her,” “Operate” and the single that blasted her off into stardom featured in Sofia Coppola’s film Lost In Translation – “Fuck the Pain Away. ” Time may have past but mentally we’re still here and we can’t shut up about it.

Hungry for some Peaches? She’s currently on a European tour. You can also catch her this September in Vancouver, Seattle’s Bumbershoot and opening for Robyn’s “The Sexistential Tour” in Chicago. Check out the full list of dates here.
