Featuring Ouri, Sophia Stel, Lucy Bedroque, and more.
As the summer slowly approaches, Montreal’s Palomosa is kicking off the season with quite an ecclectic lineup. The three-day event which usually closes out festival season now takes place at the start of the season from May 14th to 16th at Parc Jean-Drapeau.
Being amoing the city’s most thoughtfully curated events, Palomosa continues to champion a bold, experimental lineup that brings together exciting new voices alongide era-defining artists and bands. This year’s edition kicks off with an outdoor block party with X-Coast, Tommy Holohan, Chippy Nonstop, and more.
The festival lineup features indie staples such as MGMT, who’ll deliver a DJ set, as well as rising underground rappers fakemink and Xaviersobased, alternative J-pop pioneer POiSON GiRL FRiEND, PC Music collective’s Hannah Diamond, as well as producer CFCF
Here are some standout performances to keep on your radar:
ear
The electronic duo based between London and New York have quickly established a buzz for their intimate, “glitchy” sound, blending soft whisper-pop vocals with dense, experimental electronic production. Their debut album, The Most Dear and The Future, was released in 2025.
Sophia Stel
The Vancouver-based singer-songwriter and producer is known for her intimate yet introspective songs, blending elements of hyperpop and trip-hop with indie-rock. Sophia Stel is set to release the follow up to her latest project, How to Win At Solitaire, via A24’s music imprint this year.
Ouri
Tracing a path from classical studies in harp, cello, and piano into Montreal’s underground electronic scene, Ouri has carved out a distinct path, crafting a sound that moves with grace, control, and force. Her sophomore album, Daisy Cutter, is an exercise of radical experimentation held together by desire, discipline, and intimacy.
Cannelle
Nostalgic for the digital age, the French singer-producer’s music is best described as “bubblegum nostalgia.” Her sound ranges from high-energy club bangers like “FILLE” to tracks like “CLOVER,” defined by a unique visual language that blends futuristic synths with Y2K aesthetics.
Lucy Bedroque
The Los-Angeles based underground singer, rapper, and producer recently released his debut mixtape, Unmusique, via DeadAir Records last month, which showcases his unique blend of rage and experimental hip-hop, digicore, and electronic music.
