The UK-based electronic four piece are hitting the road ahead of the release of their forthcoming sophomore record, Any Random Kindness via Infectious Music on May 10. The band will make their return to Montreal to play a gig alongside the Montreal-based electronic duo UNDERHER. The band is about to kick off the first leg of their tour for this album cycle leading up to the release.
In terms of their sound, the band have acquired more of an interesting musicality with their evolved, textured sound. On top of the layered instrumentation and vocals that exist within their new singles, their music contains irregularities in rhythm that compliment the musical arrangements which can be heard in “Kyoto.” “Boy Girl.” also contains influences from trip hop and rap elements within the band’s vocalist Lotti Benardout‘s vocals, creating a pleasant change. As well, Any Random Kindness explores a wide range of topics derived by the anxieties and unfortunate events of life, touching on subjects such as the destruction caused by climate change as well as the negative effects of social media personas and how it can deter meaningful relationships between individuals. Changes in the band dynamic have also happened between both records too as the trio became a four-piece when touring member Daniel Vildósola joined them.
