Julia Jacklin Announces New Album, The Gem, Shares First Single, “Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon)”

Out on September 25th via 4AD

Julia Jacklin is set to make her 4AD debut this fall with the announcement of her fourth studio album. As a first preview, she’s unveiled the first single, “Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon).

Recorded in Melbourne along with producer Robert Muinos, the 10-track record chronicles the singer-songwriter’s journey towards reinvention and betting on herself. Named after a pub in Melbourne, The Gem came together in the span of almost a year. “The Gem felt like a metaphor for the whole process, because a lot of it did feel like digging. I felt like I was doing it almost in the dark, just trusting I was going to find something,” mentions Jacklin about the process. “I want to love and be loved, but I also want to be free. The tension between those two things has been the central question of my life,” she adds.

The lead single, “Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon)” is a catchy tune that encapsulates her beloved earnest songwriting.

Julia Jacklin is set to embark on a fall 2026 North American tour, kicking things off in San Diego on October 23rd. Check out the full list of dates here.

The Gem arrives on September 25th via 4AD.
