This years’ eclectic edition will be taking place between September 22 to 26 in various venues around the Mile End neighbourhood.
POP Montreal is back with another hybrid model that consists of both in-person and virtual performances. There will also be a parade in the Mile End to celebrate the festival’s milestone on the Sunday among the other festivities.
The stacked lineup consists of many artists who have appeared at the festival over the years such as 2020 Polaris Prize winner and metal rapper Backxwash, Cadence Weapon and Cakes da Killa. The debut performance by the latest Montreal supergroup ALL HANDS/ MAKE LIGHT featuring Efrim Manuel Menuck from Godspeed You Black Emperor and Ariel Engle of La Force will be taking place as well. The Lightman Jarvis Ecstatic band which is the latest collaborative project by Yves Jarvis and Romy Lightman will perform tracks from their latest release. Some of Montreal’s most vibrant artists such as Kae Sun, Janette King, Maryze, Magi Merlin and Population II are also featured on the bill.

Aside from the music, various other activities will also be taking place over the five days such as the Art POP exhibitions on the Rialto’s third floor, Puces POP, POP Symposium which consists of conferences and discussions as well as Film POP at Cinéma Moderne and L’Entrepôt77 venue. There will also be tons of activities for children at Kids POP.
To ensure the safety of all attendees, all necessary COVID-19 protocols will be implemented and required documentation must be present upon entry to all concert venues. Similar to last year’s edition, all tickets must be purchased in advance as there will be no tickets available at doors.
