Montreal-based experimental artist MAGELLA has returned with the announcement of her upcoming record, The Pearl. The musician’s first offering, “Control,” is a raw and atmospheric track that fuses her soulful vocals with an industrial sonic backdrop, which sets the tone for the project.

The lead single offers a moment of introspection amid turmoil. “I wrote this from the perspective of someone struggling in a performative environment,” adds MAGELLA. “This is my attempt as an anthem for those who question their place in the machine.”

With this 10-song project, MAGELLA continues to explore a range of sonic textures, delivering a reflective record with a notable feature from Backxwash.
