The multi-disciplinary arts festival is set to take place in Montreal from August 19 to Sunday, August 24, 2025.
MUTEK, the international festival focussed on digital creativity and electronic music, has become a staple to Montreal’s artistic landscape over the years. Bridging together artistic innovation and digital creation, MUTEK’s 26th edition allows local and global artistic communities to discover a wide range of music and avant-garde arts projections in the city’s Quartier des spectacles.
MUTEK features nearly 80 live performances, including free outdoor programming at Esplanade Tranquille, showcasing a wide range of global and local talent in various venues including the SAT, MTELUS, and Théâtre
Maisonneuve.
In terms of immersive visual experiences, Max Cooper is set to return to Montreal, this time showcasing a new Lattice 3D/AV experience transforming space into light sculptures. The piece recounts the story of his latest and tells the story of his latest album, On Being, while capturing elements from his music catalogue.
The festival’s international lineup features Colombian artist Bitter Babe and producers Kyle Hall, Detroit techno legend Kevin Saunderson as “E-Dancer,”
returns after more than 25 years with a new album under the alias e-Dancer, prolific Kenyan visionary Slikback ,The Fear Radio, the hip-hop and techno duo composed of James Ruskin and Mark Broom, Italian experimental drummer and percussionist Valentina Magaletti, Austrian house icon Cassy, and many more. In terms of local acts, Montreal’s Gayance, who is now based in
Portugal is set to deliver a stunning performance, along with Martyn Bootyspoon, Yu Su, Florence-Delphine Roux, just to name a few.
Additionally, MUTEK Forum returns for an 11th edition, featuring three days of innovation and digital creation, gathering artists, institutions, experts, and curators for insightful talks and workshops that revolve around the intersections of art, technology.
