Laini Tani is set to arrive on June 6th.
Montreal-based, Egyptian-born, producer, vocalist, composer, and actor, Nadah El Shazly has announced her sophomore album, Laini Tani, arriving this summer via a Backward Music (CA) and her new label, One Little Independent Records (ROW). The acclaimed musician known for her avant-garde artstry, improvisational, experimental sound paired with traditional Arabic influences.
Each track on Laini Tani serve as snapshots of vivid moments defiance and introspection. A vignette, capturing fleeting yet vivid moments of introspection, defiance, or unbridled euphoria, all woven together with her intricate lyricism and a rich soundscape. El Shazly also demonstrates an willingness to demonstrate vulnerability. The musician has joined forces with 3Phaz as co-producer, along with frequent collaborator Sarah Pagé on harp and electronics.
Her new single, “Ghorzetein,” which translates to “two stitches,” explores heartbreak. The ominous and instrumentation builds up with intensity as El Shazly walks listeners through the emotional journey.
