In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Seattle grunge band’s legendary performance.
Nirvana’s iconic MTV Unplugged concert took place a little over thirty years ago. To celebrate the occasion, French label GM Éditions has announced, A Tribute to Nirvana, The Songs of MTV Unplugged in New York. The seven-track LP present a contemporary take on some of the beloved tracks by Current Joys, Camille Jansen, Brad Stank, Levitation Room, Casino Hearts, Chris Staples, and Far Caspian. The record exudes a raw quality of the original performance, solidifying its timeless quality.

Today, Casino Hearts unveil their rendition of Nirvana’s take on “Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For A Sunbeam” by the Vaselines. Band leader Nick Minor weighs in on how the cover manifested:
“When we were going through the tracks on Unplugged this one stood out as a good fit for us. Lyrically it has a sentiment we share and we really liked that it originated from a hymn.“
